Warriors go 1-1 on the weekend

After a tough road outing to start the season against Vincennes University, the Lady Warriors picked up their first win of the season on August 24th, over East Central College in the Southeastern Tournament. The Lady Warriors dropped the first set to East Central by a score of 25-24, but bounced back and took the next three sets 25-20, 25-23, 25-20. Later in the day, Wabash Valley fell to St. Louis Community College in straight sets, by scores of 25-17. 25-16, 25-23.

Against East Central, the Lady Warriors had 11 total blocks, with Makaya Porter and Alani Duncan both collecting two solo blocks. Sophie Spanier led the team with 15 digs, while Kathryn Blake tallied 14. Cristina Felts had her first double-double of the season with 12 digs and 11 kills. Alyssa Wilke had 24 assits, with Ayiana Nieves contributing 18 assits. Kathryn Blake and Serena Buchanan had eight kills, while Porter and Duncan had six each. The Lady Warriors finished the match with 46 kills and eight aces.

The Lady Warriors are on the road August 28th at Rend Lake College, before hosting Shawnee Community College on September 4th for their home opener and their first conference match of the season.
