On November 29th, the Lady Warriors were defeated by Moberly Area Community College by a final of 87-62. But just ten days later, the Lady Warriors returned the favor to the Greyhounds. Wabash Valley welcomed the home crowd back to the Spencer Sports Center with a dominating win over the Greyhounds. The final, 77-56.
From the tip-off, it was all Wabash Valley. The Lady Warriors started the game on a 7-0 run, forcing Moberly Area to take a timeout. The timeout had no effect on slowing down the Lady Warriors as they continued to leave their foot on the gas and ending the first quarter with a 12 point lead, 26-14.
Wabash Valley kept the offensive momentum going into the second quarter, as they outscored the Greyhounds 18-11, to make the halftime score 44-25. The third quarter was the only quarter that the Greyhounds outscored the Lady Warriors. Wabash was outscored 16-14, but still held the lead after three, 58-41. Wabash outscored Moberly 19-15 in the fourth to secure the win.
The Lady Warriors were a problem defensively for the Greyhounds, as they forced 27 turnovers. Of those 27 turnovers, 18 were steals for the Lady Warriors.
Offensively, Wabash Valley was led by Shalyn Sprinkles with 21 points. Sprinkles also tallied 6 assists, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds. Also scoring for Wabash Valley was Kassie McMasters with 13 points, while Aijia Elliot and Destni McAllister both finished with 12 points. Jordan Scott tallied 10 points and Keeley Harris finished with 9 points.
The Lady Warriors next home game is December 13th against John A Logan. Tip-off is 1pm.
