Lady Warriors Continued Dominance in 2017-2018

The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors capped off another historic season in 2017-2018 with a record of 30-3. The Lady Warriors finished the year ranked 6th in the country, establishing themselves as one of the Top Junior College programs in the nation. The Lady Warriors lost a nail bitter to eventual National Champion, Tallahassee, in a game that came down to the final seconds. . The Lady Warriors also brought home the Great Rivers Athletic Conference, Region 24, and District P Championships which is 2nd year in a row for the clean sweep of postseason awards.  The Lady Warriors have post a record of 61-5 over the last two year including 35-1 in GRAC play.  They also boasted one of the nations longest home winning streks at 32.


The Lady Warriors as a team also boasted some pretty spectacular numbers on and off the court as they lead the country in 4 different categories. The Lady Warriors averaged 93.8 point per a game which ranked 1st in the country. On top of that the Lady Warriors shot 51% from the field which ranked 1st in the country as well, while also leading the country in assist per a game at 23.5. In the classroom the Lady Warriors posted an impressive 3.17 GPA for the year.


The Lady Warriors also brought home a wide range of awards. Mariah McCully, was named a 1st Team All American. McCully was also named Conference and Region 24 player of the year. Other players who received 1st team All-Conference and All Region were freshman, Marie Hunter and Ruby Angok. Hunter was also named Region Freshman of the Year. Second year head coach of the Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors basketball team, Luke Scheidecker was named Conference, Region and District P Coach of the Year for 2017-2018.


3 Sophomores have all committed to Play Division 1 basketball as well. Two Time All-American Mariah McCully has signed to play at Wichita St. Two time All-Conference and All-Region Deasia Outlaw gas signed to Murray St. All-American Ashley Moore signed to Morehead St.
