Cornelius "Cornbread" Walker is entering his 4th year as an assistant coach at Wabash Valley College. Originally from St. Louis, Coach Walker played Varsity basketball all four years at Vashon High School, which was ranked #1 in the nation his Freshman year, until they eventually lost the State Title game to UNC star Tyler Hansbrough, finishing with a 30-1 record. Vashon won the State Championship the following year, and Coach Walker was ranked in the top 50 in the state of Missouri his senior year, while Averaging 19pts 6assist and 5reb per game. Coach Walker went on to play at Wabash Valley, where he was a 2 year starter and team captain his sophomore season. Walker was part of the 2010-2011 National Tournament Team, which finished 7th in the nation, with a 27-5 record. Walker’s career record, while playing at WVC, was 47-15. Walker graduated from WVC and went on to play basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he was a 2 year starter and team captain. Walker finished at KWC with a record of 43-16, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. After graduating college, Walker coached freshman basketball Auburn High School, and was a paraprofessional in the Rockford, IL public school district. Walker has a wife Jami Walker, and 3 kids: Kali, Kamori, and Kameran Walker.
