For the first time since 1989, WVC baseball advances to the NJCAA College World Series in Grand Junction Colorado with a 1-0 win over Indian Hills.

Both teams had outstanding pitching perfomances, WVC was led by starter and UK commit Aaron McGeorge, and relievers Jared Proctor, Logan Parrett, and Gio Nieves.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 9th. WVC lead off the inning with a Diego Pichardo walk. Pichardo advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Romero Harris and an error by Indian Hills. After a fielder's choice advanced Pichardo to 3rd, with one out Trey Beckman put down the suicide squeeze down the right side and Pichardo beat the throw with a head first slide.

WVC will play Southern Nevada in Grand Junction Colorado on Saturday at 2 PM.
