Christian Frias enters his third season with the Wabash Valley Baseball Program. Frias assists in all aspects of the day to day operations of the program. On the field, Frias serves as the Hitting Coach and Infield Coach.
In Frias's two season at The Bash, The Warriors have combined to win 96 games, two GRAC regular season titles, two Region 24 Championships, a District Championship and a 3rd place finish at the 2017 JUCO World Series. Also, in that time the Warriors have ranked in the Top 5 in all major offensive categories. Following the 2018 season, the Warriors had four players named All-Conference and All-Region, while the 2017 season saw five players named All-Conference and three named All-Region.
Prior to Wabash Valley, Frias spent three seasons at his alma mater the University of Rio Grande. While at Rio Grande, in 2015 amd 2016 the RedStorm won back to back KIAC Championships and earned back to back NAIA National Tournament berths. Also, in his time at Rio Grande the RedStorm saw five players named to the KIAC Gold Glove Teams and 13 players named to KIAC All-Conference teams. In 2015, the RedStorm set school records for fielding percentage and double plays turned in a season.
As a player, Frias spent three years in the Toronto Blue Jays organization after signing as an undrafted free agent. Frias finished his collegiate career in 2010 at Rio Grande. Frias earned All Mid-South Conference honors while leading his team to a school record 48 wins, an MSC Championship and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament.
Frias is the Godson of MLB Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar. Frias resides in Mt. Carmel with his wife Gorvanice and their daughters Chrislianice and Gorlianice.
